Essences mine quickly; it usually takes less than a minute to fill an inventory, and then another minute is needed to get the mined essence to a bank and return to the mine for another load. For fast banking it is recommended that you use Aubury in Varrock to get to the essence mines and deposit each load of runes in the bank which is just north of his shop. Members with 66 Magic can instead go to Wizard Distentor at the Wizards' Guild in Yanille, which is closer to a bank.
This reward can only be received once per day, but can be a good way to make easy money at lower levels. The maximum reward is 20 gold ore, 152 cosmic runes, 52 astral runes and 50,002 coins, worth . Lower amounts are received for less stardust. Higher mining levels may make it easier to obtain the full reward.
The best is the West Varrock Mine due to its proximity to a bank, but the Al Kharid mine is also available. Unfortunately, silver ore rocks only respawn every 2 minutes, which means a lot of time standing around waiting for the ore to become available for mining, which greatly reduces the profit per hour.
Gold ore sells for Gold ore coins each. However, this method is not very effective because of the slow respawn rate of gold (approx. 2 minutes). The player can also mine at the Arzinian Mine which has one-hundred and forty-six rocks. A nearby Dwarven boatman, east of the mine entrance, banks the player's gold ore for a charge of 20% of the gold ores, rounded up. You can also mine at northwest Karamja near Brimhaven, Tzhaar City, and the mine under the Grand Tree (Grand Tree quest required). If you have completed the Forgiveness of a Chaos Dwarf quest, you can mine gold at the North Keldagrim mining area. |4<br> 250k-500k p/h||Level 40||Mining Gems (Shilo Village)<br>
This is a very crowded place but you can still make a lot of money. You can get very bad gems like uncut opals, and you can get things like uncut emeralds, rubies, and diamonds which go for about Uncut_emerald, Uncut_ruby and Uncut_diamond coins respectively. You can get about 200k-400k depending on your luck. Another option is the use the Al Kharid scorpion mine Resource dungeon if achieved level 75 Dungeoneering, this area is usually less crowded.
In order to maximise profit and stay without banking for longer periods of time one may use, if obtained (cannot be bought in GE), a Gem bag from Dungeoneering (with 25 Dungeoneering, 25 crafting), allowing storage of up to 100 gems from Sapphires to Diamonds. The far more common semi-precious gems can be cut and then crafted into bolt tips using a chisel for some fletching and crafting xp, but you will lose money. Banking all gems (even cheap semi precious gems) may earn more money depending on the time spent. Players may also consider cutting gems before banking, since semi-precious increase in value after cutting, and crushed quite often, therefore you can save some banking time if cutting gems before banking. A way to maximise profit is after cutting semi-precious gems, sell them to the tai bo wanna general store, which isn't too far from shilo village, and then sell the trading sticks gained from selling. Another method (with high enough crafting level) is crafting these gems into necklaces, rings, bracelets, or amulets. To make even more money (with a 57 mage)is to enchant (level 4) diamond bracelets into Forinthry braces with a earth staff and several cosmic runes. This brings in anywhere from 2k to 10k coins per brace. The current price of the Forinthry Brace is 9,2k.
|Mining Granite<br> First, start out at the Shantay Pass. You need one pass each time you wish to enter the desert, so it is a good idea to stock up on them. You should wear full desert clothing to protect from the heat. Your inventory should be 2 or 4 full waterskins, a shantay pass, and you should have 200 gold. Walk through the gate and take the carpet ride to Bedabin Camp. From there, run south to the mine and get an inventory full of granite 5kg. Then, cast Home Teleport to Lumbridge. Refill your waterskins at the fountains, run back to shantay pass, and use the bank chest there. Each granite 5kg currently costs . It is wise to use this method when it's cost is over 2k because then each inventory is 50k. Another method is to teleport to clan wars to bank, and then transport back again using the lodestone northeast of the quarry. If players mine granite in around level 70 it will be easy to make 350-450k gp per hour, assuming that they have a terrorbird or better BoB. It does also yield around 40k exp an hour if using urns, and 35k if not.
The Mining Guild contains 5 mithril rocks (but requires 60 Mining), and mining from mithril rocks in the Wilderness or Lumbridge Swamp is also possible. There are 3 mithril rocks at the Al Kharid mining area, and there is also mithril on Crandor, although the distance and the presence of aggressive monsters does not make it a convenient place to mine. <!--Members can find many rocks at the Jatizso mine and a few at the Grand Tree.-->
As opposed to the recent previous situation, after the bot nuke event, mining either in the mining guild or in the Dwarmen mine resource dungeon doesn't result as a problem anymore, and, furthermore, in less populated worlds these places might be found empty.
|Mining adamantite<br>Adamantite ore sells for Adamantite ore each and can be found in the Hobgoblin Mine (level 34-37 Wilderness), the west Lumbridge Swamp mines, Crandor, or the Grand Tree mine (members). <!--For members mining in the Hobgoblin Mine, a forinthry bracelet, ring of life, and charged amulet of glory are suggested; however, the ring and the teleport function of the amulet do not function past level 30 Wilderness.--> If you mine in the Wilderness mine, also note that the risk of dying from player killers is present. Do not pass through the Bandit Camp on your way to or from the mine. At First this seems very profitable but with the amount of time to switch worlds or waiting for the ore to respawn it greatly decreases in profit per hour.
Members who have started "The Fremennik Isles" quest can mine the 11 rocks in the Jatizso mine. These mines are never taken, and can be freely mined on populated worlds without ever catching up to yourself. (Tested with level 70 Mining and a Dragon Pickaxe on world 2)Also this mine is close to a bank. It is worth noting however that these mines are deserted because of the aggressive ice trolls that are present. They hit hard even with good armour, but can be reasonably avoided. Caution advised.
Refer to below (concentrated gold) for more information (besides money made). This ore is a logical precursor to concentrated gold. Mining it is slightly worse than granite for xp/hour, but you don't have to drop it, so you make money. Mining this ore is one of the very best ways to make money with mining, although the experience gained per hour is less than concentrated gold, when using a Dragon Pickaxe and Coal Bag the profit per hour is much higher.
You can make anywhere from 140-200k per hour depending on if you're using a rune or dragon pickaxe, and if you're using a summon or not (no summoning familiars and a rune pick yields approximately 140k/hr at level 80 mining, adding familiars and better picks, as well as an increase in level, as these rocks yield approximately 35-40k xp/hr with a rune pick and no summon, drastically increases money made as well). World 84 has a network of players mining, fishing, and killing rock monsters, so you're less likely to die there. The experience is also on-par with granite, so this is a great place for xp, cash, or smithing/crafting materials.
|Mining runite<br>Runite ore is the most expensive ore in the game, at Runite ore coins each. It is only found in a few locations, including a few rocks in deep Wilderness. This is one out of the two locations free to play players can mine runite. <!--Members can mine runite at the Heroes' Guild, at the single runite rock on the Fremennik Isles, or in the Lava Maze, although this location is very dangerous.--> The amount of time it takes runite to respawn is dependent on world population; it will spawn quicker on more-populated worlds. Most players who mine runite tend to switch worlds rather than wait for the ore to respawn. Again this is the same as with Adamantite ore. The amount of time world hopping and waiting decreases the profit per hour. Another effective method of mining runite is using the superior locator, a reward from Mobilising Armies to teleport you to runite rocks. Beware that you can be teleported to the wildernesss. Money made using the common "world switching" method, in combination with timing the respawns of the runite ore you already mined, can yield profits ranging from 200k-700k/hr. The most effective methods of mining runite ore include using a Dragon Pickaxe, mining in the Keldagrim North mine (access restricted to those who have completed the quest Forgiveness of a Chaos Dwarf ), and timing ore respawns based on the current world population.

Money/ore amount scale:
*15 Runite ore= coins.
*28 Runite ore= coins.
*50 Runite ore= coins.
NOTE: After the release of the resource dungeons, it is possible to mine Runite ore quite safely in the Mining guild resource dungeon(Requires 45 Dungeoneering for access.) There is also a convenient bank deposit box close by. Although this is not recommended due to the fact that the rocks are almost always crowded with players, on both free-to-play and members' worlds.
|Note: the best thing to do is only mine the item if you are 10 levels above the requirement's. Example: Mine runite ore at level 95
