'''Mithril seeds''' are items that can be planted, in order to produce [[flowers]] of a random colour. When planted, they will appear underneath your feet, and then you will move away a square. Immediately after this action, players are given the choice of picking up the flowers, or leaving them. It is advised that the player take the flowers, due to their monetary value.

You can obtain mithril seeds at the [[Legends'_Guild#Second_floor|Shop of Useful Items]] within the [[Legends' Guild]] for 300 [[coins]] each. There are 500 seeds for sale at this store (entire stock costs 150,000gp). In order to gain access to the Legends' Guild you must have completed the [[Legends' Quest]]. Forty mithril seeds can also be obtained as a reward from the [[Waterfall Quest]].

In the past red flowers were the third most expensive flower because they were the only flowers that could be used to make the [[praying mantis]] familiar. As of [[March 3]] [[2010]], all types of flowers (excluding black and white) can be used as a tertiary ingredient for the [[praying mantis]] familiar, so picking all flowers is a good idea for players wishing to train [[Summoning]].

As Free Trade was brought back, the "Flower Game" emerged. A player would bet [[coins]] on what color of flower would come up when planted. They are not made of mithril, despite their name; the examine info shows that the case is made of mithril, however.
*An interesting thing to note: back in ''[[RuneScape Classic]]'', when one planted a mithril seed, the product would be a tree. Also, unlike mithril seeds currently, one would not back up a space after planting. Thus, if one planted a mithril seed in ''[[RuneScape Classic]]'', they would be "inside" or occupying the same space as a temporary tree. These seeds were also allowed to be planted in the [[Wilderness]].
*They were used to disrupt other players' training, such as laying a [[box trap]]. As of now, players are unable to plant the seeds in hunting areas.
