Like all Mithril weapons, it requires 20 attack to wield. Players can make a Mithril longsword with the [[Smithing]] skill at level 56 using 2 [[mithril bar]]s, giving the player 100 Smithing [[experience]]. Players can purchase this longsword from the [[Varrock Swordshop]] in [[Varrock]]. Like most other items, it can also be bought from the [[Grand Exchange]] in [[Varrock]]. It was also one of the few mithril weapons obtainable in the Instant Demo, the others being the [[Mithril battleaxe|battleaxe]], [[Mithril dagger|dagger]], [[Mithril sword|short sword]] and [[Mithril 2h sword|two-handed sword]].
