The '''Mining Tutor''' (real name '''Monlum''') was a [[Non-player character]] who was one of several [[tutor]]s and guides in the game. The tutor no longer exists, he was deleted with the [[Update:Advisors and Objectives|Advisors and Objectives update]] in September 2009.

He would tell players how to [[Mining|mine]] certain [[ore]]s and what [[pickaxe]]s can can be used at certain levels. He was located at southern mine in the [[Lumbridge Swamp]] and would hand players a [[bronze pickaxe]] if they did not have one in their [[inventory]] or [[bank]].

Monlum also let players work for him if asked. His tasks varied from fishing for [[Crayfish]] to collecting [[cowhide]]s.
