The '''Master of Races''' is an [[imp]] that appears to start a race a [[player]] blows a [[Starting horn]]. Clan members wearing [[Racing boots]] will be unable to move while he announces "Ready! Set! Go!". When he says "ready", the flame on his torch is red. When he says "set", the flame turns yellow. When he says "go", the flame gets green, meaning that the players should start running. Players can buy a racing horn in [[Al-Kharid]] from [[Faruq]] whose stall is near the silk trader. The Master of Races can teleport to virtually any imaginable location, even those not of [[Gielinor]], such as the [[Runecrafting Guild]]'s plane and the [[Land of Snow]], along with hidden random event locations such as the [[Maze]] as long as you bear the horn upon your person. At times it cannot be summoned, due to the message: ''"Your race starter cannot appear near another."'' This can cause confusion among a group if multiple people attempt to blow the horn, and can even be used maliciously to delay a race.

==Trivia==
*If two people blow the horn at the exact same time, it is possible to have two Master of Races at the same time.
*Occasionally the imp freezes when it appears, usually with the fire green tipped with red.
