The '''Lit bug lantern''' is a piece of [[Slayer]] equipment used to slay [[Harpie Bug Swarm]]s, without a lit bug lantern all attacks against them will be ineffective. The lantern is equipped in the shield slot, thereby disabling the use of two-handed weapons. A slayer level of 33 is required to wield the lantern, the [[unlit bug lantern]] must be lit with a [[tinderbox]], requiring 33 [[Firemaking]]. Despite being a "lantern", this item cannot be used as a [[light source]].<br />

Players assigned Harpie Bug Swarms will need to be 33 firemaking in order to slay them, as assistance for firemaking will not allow the player to light the bug lantern. Players can still be assigned Harpie Bug Swarms even if they do not have 33 firemaking.<br />

The unlit version can be purchased from any [[slayer master]] for 130 [[coins]] and sold back for 78 coins.<br />
