His residence is within [[Varrock Palace]], where the [[Varrock Palace Secret Guard]] work to keep him safe. He is located in the south-east side of the Palace on the ground floor.

King Roald's examine text in [[Runescape Classic]] calls him King Roald VIII, although he is the third.

==Quest==
During the [[What Lies Below]] quest, King Roald is controlled by a mind control spell cast by [[Surok Magis]], and is forced to fight against the player. He has a [[combat level]] of 47, and can only be defeated if the player summons [[Zaff]] when he is at zero [[Lifepoints|Life points]]. Additionally, [[poison]] cannot be used against him. He is weak against magic attacks and slash-based weapons such as [[longsword]]s.

The same day the quest was released, King Roald's graphics were revamped.

It is also is revealed in issue 38 of [[Postbag from the Hedge]] that he has a low [[Magic]] level.

For players who have completed [[Garden of Tranquillity]] before [[What Lies Below]], King Roald will yell at the player for growing the garden. For players who have completed [[Shield of Arrav]] before [[What Lies Below]], King Roald will yell about the player being a member of the [[Phoenix Gang]] or the [[Black Arm Gang]] depending on which gang the player joined during the quest. For players who have completed [[Darkness of Hallowvale]] before What Lies Below, King Roald will yell that the player is with the [[Vampyre]]s.
