The '''Katagon chainbody''' is the eighth tier of chainbody available in [[Daemonheim]], which can only be obtained and used while [[Dungeoneering]]. To equip a player requires level 70 [[Defence]]. <br />

One may be picked up from the table at the beginning of a dungeon, obtained as a monster drop, or produced using the [[Smithing]] skill. Like most chainbodies making it requires 3 bars of its specific metal. <br />

Making it requires a Smithing level of 77. Smithing this by using 3 [[Katagon bars]] on an [[anvil]] grants 228 smithing [[experience]].<br />

It is usually advised to produce a [[Katagon platebody]] instead, as it gives better melee defence bonuses overall.Unfortunately it requires 5 bars as opposed to 3, and is less advised for mages as it reduces the user's [[Magic]] bonus. It may still be useful for archers as it give considerable defence and doesn't lower Ranged attack.<br />
