After/during the [[quest]] you can relight the [[fire]] he is near, with 8 [[willow logs]] to create a fire that lasts forever. This requires 85 [[firemaking]] and gives you 10,000 firemaking [[experience]]. This '''cannot''' be done with temporary boosts. Also, you can repair the nearby bridges to create a shortcut, requiring 8 [[planks]], 16 [[nails]] (any type), and a [[hammer]] (this includes both bridges).
