'''Ice Burst''' is a combat [[spell]] that requires a [[Magic]] level of 70. It deals up to 220 life points per hit and can do a maximum of 431 life points per hit with a castlewars bracelet used against a flag holder, an [[overload]] or [[extreme magic|extreme magic potion]] used, a [[Chaotic staff]], and an [[Arcane stream necklace]] equipped. Or a total maximum of '''371''' damage per spell, with an extreme magic potion, an Arcane stream necklace, a Chaotic staff, and a [[hexcrest]] worn against a person's slayer task in a multi combat area. You need to complete [[Desert Treasure]] [[quest]] to unlock the [[Ancient Magicks]] spellbook. It will freeze the player's target and any targets standing on an adjacent square to your target, including diagonals. The targets will be unable to move for 10 seconds. It is worth noting that this spell can damage a maximum of 9 squares with targets in them per cast.

Ice Burst is the most common Ancient spell used in [[Castle Wars]] and the [[Fight Pits]], due to its relative low cost compared with [[Ice Barrage]], the lower level required, and the relatively large number of targets in small spaces, especially on crowded worlds.

Ice Burst is also a common spell in [[Pest Control]] games due to the many monsters stuck in places where they cannot move. This was considered a very effective way of training magic, before an update, because Ice Burst can hit up to nine monsters at a time, doing as much as 2691 life points per spell. However, due to the limit of 2 [[Experience]] per hit in Pest Control, after the update, this is no longer an effective way to train.

It has been proven it can hit many more targets in a 3 by 3 square.

Ice Burst is a fairly common spell in [[Stealing Creation]] but because of the ease of getting runes it is more common to see the use of [[Ice Barrage]] if the player has the required level.
