Hope Devourer is a Dungeoneering boss monster that can be fought on the Warped floors of Daemonheim, beginning at floor 51. It requires a Dungeoneering level of 101 to encounter and fight. This boss monster is the highest levelled behemoth of Daemonheim and resides closest to the Rift of all its kind.
Attacks
The behemoth has four main modes of attack: the first is its aura attack, a special ability that deals damage to all players in the room, as well as lowering their combat skills, but which can be blocked with the use of Protect from Magic or Deflect Magic. The aura hits at regular intervals, always dealing the same damage, and depending on the combat level of the beast may hit up to 61. The second attack is a normal (but extremely powerful and accurate) melee attack that can be completely blocked by praying melee. The third attack, however, makes meleeing the boss somewhat impractical; it is a special 'knockback' attack that hits through prayer, dealing massive damage and decreasing the target's Defence. The fourth attack is a special prayer-eating attack that only hits players using protect prayers, again dealing massive damage, disabling protection prayers, and healing the boss slightly (usually between 500 and 1000 lp). This attack is preceded by the beast roaring, so experienced players can avoid it by turning off their protect prayers quickly. The boss's fifth attack is the standard stomp attack that all behemoths use on players who stand under them. All of these attacks, except for the aura attack, can easily deal 500+ damage, and should be avoided if at all possible.

Strategy
The Hope Devourer's powerful close-range abilities make it very hard to melee effectively. A team of players with Bloodragers can bring it down swiftly with melee attacks, but they will receive a significant amount of damage. On the other hand, the boss is very weak to mage, and is even vulnerable to binding spells. Thus, most teams prefer to mage on this boss, and remain out of its melee range by repeatedly binding it.

While this method is effective, it obviously requires entangles and runs the risk of a mage receiving one of the boss's powerful melee attack in between binds. High-level dungeoneering teams usually use another technique, known as the blocking method. This method is built around the fact that the Hope Devourer, unlike almost any other boss in Dungeoneering, can not walk over players. Also of significance, it will prioritize one player (people without melee pray get targeted more likely) and try to melee that player as long as they continue to attack it. Thus, it's possible to have the priority player 'hide' behind another player (the blocker) and essentially safespot the boss. Note that it may be best for the blocking player to not attack the boss, as the boss will switch its focus to one of the other players attacking it if the priority player stops attacking to eat. If the Hope Devourer uses its knockback attack on the blocking player (which is possible), the formation may completely disintegrate.

Players who choose to melee the boss should pray melee, use piety or turmoil for a quick kill, and most importantly watch out for its prayer-eating attack. Players who choose to mage should use the curse Soul Split to counteract the aura's health-draining effects, and use mage-boosting prayers to reduce the aura's stat-draining power.
Trivia
*There was a glitch that caused the music track 'Hope Devourer' to be listed incorrectly: instead of being with the other 'H' tracks in alphabetical order, it was listed in the 'W's, beneath Warped Gulega. This has been fixed.
*Apparently, Marmaros (the rewards trader) barely survived an encounter with this boss; it was what made him so terrified of everything around him.
*One of the walls near the entrance to the boss chamber originally bulged out, allowing players to safespot the boss. An update by Jagex fixed the wall, making this impossible.
