The '''hexcrest''' is a unique [[Slayer]] item that boosts [[Magic damage]] by 15% versus [[Slayer assignment]] monsters. It is dropped by [[jungle strykewyrm]]s and requires 20 [[Magic]] and 10 [[Defence]] to equip. The hexcrest can be combined with a [[slayer helm]] and [[focus sight]] to produce a [[full slayer helm]], which carries over the hexcrest's bonus to Magic damage.

With a hexcrest, a [[chaotic staff]], an [[arcane stream necklace]] and an [[extreme magic]] potion or equivalent, Magic damage can be boosted by up to 71%. [[Fire Surge]]'s maximum hit rises to 478 damage with this bonus, and [[Ice Barrage]] can hit up to 513 damage. A [[ferocious ring]] adds an additional 40 points of damage to successful hits, but only works in [[Kuradal's Dungeon]].

On the day this item was released, players bought them for upwards of 25 million [[coins]], utilising junk trading. It crashed in the next few weeks in the [[Grand Exchange]], falling over 60% in 4 weeks.

A Hexcrest drop is mentioned in the [[Adventurer's Log]] with the message, "After killing a Jungle strykewyrm, it dropped a Hexcrest."
