A '''Halloween mask''', also known as a '''Hallowe'en mask''' or a '''h'ween mask''', is a [[Discontinued |holiday item]] that was introduced on [[31 October]] [[2002]] as part of the [[2002 Hallowe'en event]]. The Halloween mask comes in three colours: green, blue, and red. A Halloween mask covers the entire head of the wearer, similar to a [[full helmet]].

Historically, the [[green Halloween mask|Green halloween mask]] has been the least expensive of the set. The [[red Halloween mask|Red halloween mask]] is the most expensive in recent history, although at times the [[blue Halloween mask|Blue halloween mask]] is more expensive. In addition, the prices of these masks tend to rise during the month of October because of Halloween. During the spring and summer, the masks can drop in prices (varies accordingly) before a quick rise in price during the months of September and October. Interestingly, the ascending price order of the masks (green, blue, red) corresponds to the order of increasing [[combat level]] of [[dragon (monster)|dragons]]. The colours in the order are also the colours of the three major ''RuneScape'' [[gods]] (blue - [[Saradomin]], red - [[Zamorak]], and green - [[Guthix]]). Another possible connection could be made with the ascending levels of metal armour (green - [[Adamant armour|adamant]], blue - [[Rune armour|rune]], red - [[Dragon armour|dragon]]). The three melee skills also have these three colours, with green representing Strength, blue representing Defence, and red representing Attack. Although these are not official connections, they are notable.
Recently, Halloween masks have been rising 2-3 million every 2 days, due to wealthy players buying them out of the grand exchange. However, it is common knowledge that rares (namely H'ween masks and [[Santa Hat]]s) crash after their respective holidays.

After the Free Trade and Wilderness were re-instated, the prices of all wearable rares skyrocketed as a lot of users had returned to the game and wanted rares, or have staked and made a lot of money and wanted to invest in rares.

*At one time the price of the [[red h'ween mask]] surpassed that of the red [[partyhat]]. This happened approximately 1 month after the Halloween masks were released.
*Before the release of the [[dragon full helm]], the red halloween mask would often replace the [[dragon medium helm]] as the helmet in a full dragon armour set (in fashion terms), because the dragon medium helm was too common.
*Originally, Halloween masks could be sold to [[General store]]s, but this is no longer possible due to [[Update:Personalised Shops|the personalised shops update]].
*On [[9 June]] [[2010]], the [[Court Cases]] update caused all halloween masks to appear red, regardless of their actual colour. This issue was fixed with an update within around 2 hours.

*In RuneScape Classic, the H'ween masks were just masks with strings on the back (To hold them to your face.) In the switch to RS2 they were changed to cover your entire head and neck.
