==Player killing and Gundai==
The areas just north of the [[Mage Arena]] were very popular among [[player killer]]s in the member's section of the Wilderness due to its close proximity to the bank and a rune store, thereby facilitating the replenishment of food, runes and other supplies. Not only was it good for player killing, it was also a strategic location to mount ambushes on miners from the [[Lava Maze]] or its underground cave headed for the Mage Arena carrying large amounts of [[runite ore]] to bank at Gundai's. However how successful were these ambushes depended on whether the player killers nearby would kill the would-be-ambushers before they could claim their bounty.

Until the highly controversial [[10 December]] [[2007]] update, player killers could be seen everywhere near the bank. The entrance to the Mage Arena [[bank]] was actually once a ladder, but this was later changed to a teleport lever so as to stop people from escaping too easily. The [[Teleblock]] [[spell]] could prevent victims from entering the bank, making the kill easier.
