The organization is dedicated to performing both [[Magic|magical]] and scientific research to further the progress of the [[gnome]] [[race]]. The institute is only briefly mentioned several times in [[Gnomic Negotiations]], a short story found on the official &#039;&#039;[[RuneScape]]&#039;&#039; website, and has not made an appearance in-game as of yet.<br /> <br /> The only field of study expressly described in the story is psychology. [[Dr. Darius Gnomalus]], who is interviewed by a [[human]] during the story, was Head of Psychology when the nppl was written several years ago. It is possible that he still holds the position today.
