Like all combat spells, each damage point caused by this spell yields 0.2 magic [[experience]] and 0.133 [[constitution]] experience.

Because of its powerful hits, free-to-play mages often use the spell in [[Clan Wars]], at the [[Duel Arena]], in [[Fist of Guthix]], and in Daemonheim.
