'''Field rations''' can be bought from the [[Void Knights' Outpost]] and can be used to heal your character. It can be eaten to restore 100 life points. Players used to be able to heal other players with it, but the introduction of the [[Item Lending]] feature players will only get the message "This item cannot be lent.”

During the [[Pest Control]] update on the 17th July 2007, a bug caused the Field Rations to disappear from the shop for a day and made people think it was a discontinued item, selling them for around 50,000 coins or more each.

Field rations also used to be sold in the [[Burthorpe]] [[General store]].

Field rations are not popular among players because dying in Pest Control does not make you lose your items, and you respawn immediately - replenishing your health and prayer. They are also not popular among all players in general, as someone could buy [[lobster]]s as a cheaper and more effective alternative.

A possible use for one could be when training [[agility]], as they weigh nothing and heal a fair amount. However, the run energy update makes weight less of a concern.
==Trivia==
*A field ration costs more at the [[Void Knight General Store]] than at the Grand Exchange, most likely due to the fact that other foods make it obsolete.
*[[Tunas]] and field rations both heal an equal amount of [[life points]], however, field rations cannot be cooked and are more expensive than tunas.
*Oddly enough, when you eat field rations, it looks like a backpack, and they're not edible. There's perhaps some food contained inside it that heals life points equal up to 100 (fish, meat, etc.).
*The field ration resembles a [[statue collection bag]], but it has a lighter brown color and it has the Void Knights' emblem.
