If lost, they can be obtained, or exchanged for [[Fighting boots]], from the [[Cradle of Life]] at the end of the fourth level (The Sepulcher of Death). Fancy boots provide the same defence bonuses as [[bronze boots]] and [[fighting boots]], and cannot be dropped, only destroyed.
These, along with [[Fighting boots]], also have the best defence bonuses of boots available to [[free play]]ers, although they aren't recommended to wear while maging or ranging due to the negative magic and ranged attack bonuses, -3 and -1 respectively.

Some people use these boots to match [[infinity robes]], since they have similar colours.

According to the Items Kept on Death Interface, this item's value is 1 coin.
