Dummies are sandbags which players can hit and not risk being dealt damage. They can be found in the building opposite Varrock east bank and in the building north of Lumbridge's general store.

Using any style of combat on the Varrock dummies will only give 5 attack experience per hit. Low level players can train on them until they reach an Attack level of 8. After this, if they attempt to hit the dummy again, they won't be allowed to hit them and will receive the message "There is nothing more you can learn from hitting a dummy."

The dummies that are located on Lumbridge belong to three different types, Melee dummies, Magic dummies and Archery targets (not really a dummy, but classified as such). These give a really minor amount of experience and should not be used to train.

There are also dummies located in the Combat training camp northwest of East Ardougne, where you can also train. However, in order to enter the camp, you must have completed the Biohazard quest.

Trivia
* There are also Dummies found in the waiting lobby of the activity Fist of Guthix called "punchbags". This scenery is not interactive. Players can pretend to hit them by using the headbang emote.Interestingly, the south dummy on the most South Western group of dummies has a face, which appears to be knocked out.
* If you attack using a halberd on a dummy in the Combat Training Camp, it will yield the message: "You cannot use ranged attacks on the dummy", even though the halberd is a melee weapon.
* In the task "Not So Confusing After All", the description says "Cast Confuse on a dummy or a living target," however when confuse is cast on a dummy, a message is displayed: "You can't weaken that."
They were used by attack pures with attack levels higher than 8 in RuneScape Classic by using a glitch involving the Wine trick.Dummy
