The '''Crystal key''' is used to open the [[Crystal chest]] located inside [[Ivy Sophista]]'s house in [[Taverley]]. It is created by combining a [[tooth half of a key]] with a [[loop half of a key]], displaying the message "You join the two halves of the key together."

The Crystal key can only be used on the chest once. After it is used, it disappears.

The only monsters who drop the whole Crystal key are [[Kree'arra]] and the [[Corporeal beast]]. It can be additionally obtained from looting a [[Kingly impling]] or a [[Magpie impling]], the treasure from an [[Elite clue]], or as a reward for dispatching an [[Evil Tree]]. Wearing a [[ring of wealth]] will increase the chances for better results.

Tooth and loop halves can be obtained as rewards from [[Barrows]], the [[Evil Tree]] event, the [[Gnome Restaurant]] activity, [[Managing Miscellania]], [[random event gift]]s, as well as burning [[Vyrewatch corpse]]es. Wearing the ring of wealth increases the chance of halves to be dropped by monsters who have access to the [[rare drop table]].

This key may not be used with the [[steel key ring]], which is only for reusable keys.
