The '''Corrupt dragon dagger''' was released on [[15 October]] [[2008]] along with the [[PvP worlds]]. It is the strongest [[dagger]] available to [[Free-to-play|non-members]], but it crumbles to dust after 30 minutes of wielding. It requires 60 [[Attack]] to wield. It also can be [[poison]]ed, but only on a members world.<br />

Players can receive this item either by trading with another player, or by receiving it as a very rare drop from killing [[Revenants]] or the [[Chaos Elemental]].<br />

Some players feel that the dagger is not worth the {{GEPrice|Corrupt dragon dagger}} coins that a F2P [[Player killing|PKer]] must pay to own, as it gives a smaller attack bonus than a [[Rune scimitar]] (40 stab attack bonus compared to Rune Scimitar's 45 slash attack bonus), it gives a smaller strength bonus (40 compared to Rune Scimitar's 44) while only being able to attack at the same speed as the Rune scimitar and it degrades into nothing after 30 minutes, whilst the Rune scimitar lasts indefinitely. As well as this, the Corrupt dragon dagger has no [[special attack]] and it is unable to be poisoned on F2P worlds. It is not totally useless however: If the enemy has a [[kiteshield]] and [[chainbody]] equipped, stab attacks will be more deadly, giving it a higher attack potential. It also weighs less than a scimitar but it is a difference of only about 1&nbsp;kg. The maximum hit of this weapon, on a F2P world, currently stands at 266.<br />

*Upon release, many players thought it has a special attack in all worlds. However, this is not true as its special attack could only be used in members worlds. The same was true for all corrupt dragon weapons. The corrupt dragon weapons no longer have a special attack in both F2P and P2P worlds.<br />
*The Corrupt dragon dagger costs significantly more than the dragon dagger, yet there is no difference between the two besides the degration of the corrupt dragon dagger and the corrupt dragon dagger's availability to free players along with the unavailability of the special attack. This is probable because dragon daggers are sold by NPCs in members servers and F2P players can only access the corrupt version.<br />
*This dagger, along with the [[Keris]] and the [[Dragon Dagger]] used to be the only daggers in Runescape to be held with a reverse grip. On [[September 5]], [[2012]], all daggers were updated to be held with a forward grip.<br />
