'''Claws''' are a type of two-handed [[melee]] [[weapons|weapon]] that are [[members|members-only]]. They can be obtained by either making them with the [[Smithing]] skill, trading with other players, or as a monster drop. Most types of claws can be created using the Smithing skill (apart from [[black claws]], [[white claws]] and [[Dragon claws]]). [[Death Plateau]] was formerly a requirement to smith them, but after the [[Troll Warzone]] update on [[31 January]] [[2012]], is no longer needed. Lower-level claws up to steel can be bought from [[Martin Thwait]] in the [[Rogue's Den]] if you have the requirement of level 50 Thieving. Players can also get [[steel claws]] and [[black claws]] from members of the [[Burthorpe Imperial Guard]] as a drop. [[Black claws]] can also be obtained as a semi-rare drop from [[Giant Rock Crab]]s. [[Dragon claws]] are dropped exclusively by [[Tormented demon]]s, and are commonly used for their [[Special attacks|special attack]], 'Slice and Dice', which hits four times in one hit. Claws aren't often used due to being two-handed and not able to be [[Poison|poisoned]], which makes people rather buy [[dagger]]s or [[scimitar]]s.
Although these weapons are worn around the hands, they can be worn with gloves. Their strength bonus is the same as the sword of the same metal, it's stab bonus is equal to the slash bonus of the sword of the same metal, and the slash bonus is equal to the stab bonus of the sword of the same metal. This means that all claws are the slashing versions of Swords, other than they are two-handed and have higher defensive bonuses, except for Dragon claws because a Dragon sword hasn't been released yet.

*When attempting to wield claws while also wielding a [[Crab claw]] in your glove slot, you will get a message saying "You need to remove your claw first." You can still wield claws while wielding a [[Pirate's hook]] or the [[Crabclaw hook]].

*Unlike other weapons, claws have the option to "wear" instead of "wield".
