'''Chemical compound''' is a [[members]]-only [[quest]] [[item]]. It is used in the [[Digsite Quest]] to blow up bricks blocking the path below the [[digsite]]. It is used with bricks and is lit with a [[tinderbox]]. It is made by combining [[nitroglycerin]], [[ammonium nitrate]], [[ground charcoal]] and [[arcenia root]] (requires [[Herblore]] level 10). Making a chemical compound gives 7 [[Herblore]] experience. People with [[Barrows equipment|Dharok's]] occasionally drop this as Dharok's hits harder if the player wearing it has low health. Dropping this item will inflict up to 650 damage on the player!

*An [[update]] sometime in 2009 by [[Jagex]] changed the way these items work, as a continuous drop of self-damaging items can no longer lead to self-inflicted [[death]]; The player will always remain with at least 20-30 [[life points]].
*The ingredient [[Ammonium_nitrate|Ammonium nitrate]] requires you to open the panning area chest with the [[Chest_key_(Digsite)|Chest key (Digsite)]], which cannot be obtained after the quest. If you have not kept the key, you can ask another person with the key to open the chest for you.
