The '''chameleon''' is a [[pet]] a player may have with level 90 [[Summoning]]. [[Chameleon egg]]s can be found on [[Cairn Isle]], west of [[Shilo Village]]; picking up an egg requires 90 summoning. Take the egg to an [[incubator]] in the [[pet shop]] in [[Yanille]] or [[Taverley]]. It takes an hour of gameplay time in order to hatch. Chameleons eat [[flies]], which can be purchased in a pet shop. The baby chameleon takes approximately 400 minutes of in-game time to mature.<br />

While many pets can change colours by various means, the chameleon is the only pet that can truly change its colour at will. This is accomplished by speaking to the chameleon while it's out. Before the update of [[9 November]] [[2010]] the chameleon would change into one of ten colours based on its environment. The default colour was green. It would change to brown on dirt, grey on stone, beige on sand, white on snow, blue in [[Zanaris]], pale green in some areas of [[Morytania]], black with red in [[TzHaar]], orange in the [[Party Room]] and yellow with pink in [[Player-owned house]]s. While in a [[Menagerie]], in a POH, the chameleon will turn into different colours randomly.<br />
