This '''Broken axe''' is a [[rune axe]] that was broken by an [[ent]] random event. Broken rune axes could be fixed at [[Bob's Brilliant Axes]] in south Lumbridge or at [[Brian's Battleaxe Bazaar]] in [[Port Sarim]], amongst others for 427 [[coins]].

The broken axe was removed along with ents in the [[Update:Random Event Update and More|Random Event Update]] of [[25 February]] [[2009]]. Several weeks before this, the price of this item was sky-rocketing on the [[Grand Exchange]], due to the fact that many players thought this would be a discontinued (and therefore rare) item.

However, the update automatically repaired all broken axes, so any players who paid money for this broken axe would find that it was replaced by the normal counterpart. This is now a discontinued item, and all in existence have since been automatically repaired.

It was possible to buy the axe from the Grand Exchange for less than its repaired counterpart, so some players bought it broken and repaired it in order to save money.
