When [[Gar'rth]] allies himself with [[Vanstrom Klause]] and enlists his aid in killing [[Tenebra]], Ben is tasked with retrieving the legendary [[sunspear]] along with seven others, including Gar'rth, Vanstrom, [[Kendrick]] and [[Tam]]. While in the underground passage that hides the sunspear, the party is split and attacked by [[bloodveld]]. Ben is injured and nearly killed, but is saved by Gar'rth. He manages to escape just to fall into the hands of [[Vanescula Drakan]], and is taken before Tenebra. When Gar'rth fails in his assassination attempt, he and Kendrick are killed in retaliation.
