'''Barfy Bill''' is a pirate located in [[Lumbridge]]. He helps players by telling them the basics of canoes. He explains basic information about the various [[canoes]] you can make at different [[Woodcutting]] levels. He also tells players that in order to use the transportation method of canoes, they must first cut down the tree next to the canoe station and shape the fallen tree on the canoe station, all with the woodcutting skill. With the 15 February 2011 update that made canoes available to free-to-play, it is also no longer necessary to have a hatchet to make a canoe - Barfy Bill will lend you his hatchet for free, and you will automatically return the hatchet when you are finished constructing the canoe. His hatchet appears to be rune when he gives it to you, and bronze when you return it to him. He is one of the five canoe instructors.
