'''Mature axeman's folly''' is player made ale, created by [[brewing]] via the [[cooking]] skill. When drunk this item provides a temporarily boost to the player's [[Woodcutting]] level of 2. It is the stronger, or "mature" version of the standard [[Axeman's folly|Axeman's Folly]], which adds only one level to Woodcutting. It cannot be used to enter the [[Sawmill training|Sawmill Training]] area, but can be used for purposes such as the Evil Tree hunting and Ancient Effigies. Axeman's Folly is most often used in quests with woodcutting requirements that players do not already meet.

When brewing Axeman's Folly, there is somewhat random chance that the batch will turn out mature. As maturation occurs during the brewing process, leaving normal ale in the vat after it has finished brewing will not cause it to turn mature or go bad. The chance of getting a mature ale can be increased by adding [[The stuff]] to the vat after adding the barley malt, and before adding the hops (or in this case, root).

Note that when collected in 2 calquat kegs, this brew is worth a very large amount of gp, on the order of 80k. Given that oak roots are made from the often discarded and greatly loathed acorn, it is actually extrordinarly cheap and easy to make. Players of decent cooking levels should have no trouble creating mature axeman's folly, especially if they are able to obtain a few of "the stuff."
