All of the pieces require 70 [[Ranged]] to wear, and 40 [[Defence]] to wear the body. All of the pieces (except the coif) can be made through the [[Crafting]] skill from [[Black d-leather|black dragonleather]]. Due to its relatively low cost, good defence values and availability, it is one of the most common armours among members who have reached 70 ranged and 40 defence. The torso piece of this armour weighs 6 kg, and the chaps weigh 6 kg as well. The vambraces appear to be weightless or have a weight value of far under 1 kg.

The set includes:

This armour will not interfere with [[Ava's alerter]], [[Ava's accumulator]] or [[Ava's attractor]].

Many players wear this armour while fighting with melee against enemies that use magic attacks, because unlike melee armour, black dragonhide offers magic defence, and unlike some other types of ranged armour like [[Armadyl armour]] or [[Pernix armour]], it does not have negative melee attack stats.
