Mushroom is a sleeping Mountain Troll found just near the entrance to the Troll Stronghold. He currently seems to have no use in the game. There is a treasure trail clue which leads to coordinates just next to this troll.
Trolls are named after the first thing they eat or try to eat, so he must have eaten a mushroom.
