The Mercenary axeman is an NPC that attacks a couple of Armadyl Guardians behind McGrubor's Wood during a cutscene in While Guthix Sleeps. The player must help the Guardians and kill the two axemen to proceed. Also fighting alongside the axemen is a Mercenary mage, who manages to teleport away when the player attempts to kill him. Afterwards, the player talks to the wounded Guardian of Armadyl and is later introduced to Idria.
