Sir Ceril Carnillean is a wealthy and famous nobleman in East Ardougne, and is the head of the Carnillean Family, a noble family whose ancestors drove Hazeel from power in the late Fourth Age. Carnillean lives in the south of Ardougne in Carnillean Mansion with his wife, Henryeta Carnillean, and their spoiled son, Philipe Carnillean.
Ceril and the Carnillean family features heavily in the Hazeel Cult quest, in which the player has the choice of either stopping or aiding the Cult of Hazeel, a group of fanatic devotees to the Zamorakian Mahjarrat, Hazeel, who once ruled over the area now known as Ardougne with an iron fist. He was defeated in the Fourth Age by the ancestors of Ceril Carnillean, and the cult now hopes to get revenge on the family for that insult, and then summon Hazeel once more.
