Wind Strike, a free-to-play magic spell, is the second weakest wind spell in the standard spellbook. This spell deals a maximum damage of 20 without boosts. The catalytic rune used for this spell is one mind rune. An air staff can be used to cut the costs of this spell. Like all combat spells, each damage point caused by this spell yields 0.2 magic experience and 0.133 constitution experience.
This is one of the few attack methods that can damage Salarin the Twisted. When used against him, the spell will either "miss" or deal 90 damage.
Wind strike is a very useful spell for new players who are just starting to train magic. The cost of the spell is very low, and players can even get the runes for 30 casts for free from Aubury in Aubury's Rune Shop located in Varrock.

Trivia
- Before the Random event update, wind strike could inflict 3 hitpoints (equivalent to 30 life points) of damage to the Strange Plant.
- To get from level 1 Magic to level 99 Magic, a player would need to cast Wind Strike 2,369,897 times, or 82 days 6 hours 54 minutes and 51 seconds of non stop casting. At Expression error: Unexpected < operator. coins per cast, that comes to a total of Expression error: Unexpected < operator.. This price is reduced to Expression error: Unexpected < operator. coins if an air staff is used.
- This was the weakest combat spell until wind rush was released on 12 October 2010.
- Sometimes when using wind strike on dummies, players will receive a message saying "Continued use of wind rush at this level is not recommended." However, this message is a glitch because the players are not actually using wind rush.
- On 24 June 2010, all of the elemental spells received a graphical make-over.
- Wind Strike was the weakest combat spell for a long time, before the release of Wind Rush, and is thus often joked about in a similar way as bronze daggers.
